We start with a site walk to confirm fixture positions, cable routes and transformer location. If combining with other landscaping, lighting cables are always laid before surfaces go down.
Low-voltage cable is laid in conduit at the correct burial depth, routed to avoid plant root zones where possible. All cable joins are fully weatherproof.
Fittings are installed and connected. We check IP ratings for each position — anything near water features needs IP68 rated fittings.
The transformer is installed, timer and dusk-to-dawn sensor configured, and smart controls set up if included.

IP44 fittings are not suitable near ponds or anywhere subject to water submersion. Always check the IP rating matches the installation environment — we specify this correctly for every fixture.
Warm white (2700–3000K) creates an inviting atmosphere. Cool white (5000K+) looks clinical and harsh outdoors. Most Leicester garden projects use warm white throughout.

We install IP65-rated LED spotlights on pergola uprights and beams, recessed low-level lights into patio walls and steps, and colour-temperature adjustable strips that let you switch between warm white (relaxed evening mood) and cool white (working or cooking). All lighting is installed on a dedicated low-voltage (12V or 24V) transformer with a weatherproof outdoor controller so you can dim, switch zones and set timers without going inside.

Recessed decking lights and riser lights are the most practical form of garden lighting for composite or timber decking: they mark the edge of each step clearly, eliminate trip hazards at night and require no additional cabling run across the surface. We plan and install all decking lights as part of the decking project so the cable is concealed in the subframe before the boards go down. Fascia-mounted lights are also popular — fitted into the horizontal board below each deck level, creating a strip of warm light that outlines the deck without glare.

Yes — we can often route cables through existing borders and under paths using a narrow cable-pulling technique that causes minimal disruption to planting and paving. It's worth doing this alongside other landscaping work to reduce costs, but it's absolutely possible on established gardens.
